City of Watertown, utilities face federal lawsuit

As the City of Pierre reaches out to socialism Watertown and the city's utilities are being sued for it.

Watertown City Attorney Stanton Fox says the plaintiff in the lawsuit is Sioux Rural Water System Incorporated. They allege in the civil lawsuit that as the city of Watertown expands and annexes property into the city limits, those new residents are then signed up as customers of Watertown Municipal Utilities, thus depriving Sioux Rural Water of customers and reducing their ability to repay federal loans which are used to expand their infrastructure.
