Criminal cult seeks religious freedom gag in water permit case

Update, 8 July, 0545 MDT: United Order of South Dakota is not a legal entity according to Seth Tupper.

The law says, “A permit to appropriate water may be issued only if there is reasonable probability that there is unappropriated water available for the applicant's proposed use, that the proposed diversion can be developed without unlawful impairment of existing rights and that the proposed use is a beneficial use and in the public interest.” [Tupper]

The income source for a compound of 160-something remains a mystery.

A polygamous sect seeking more water for its South Dakota compound wants to block discussion of its faith and member's [sic] personal details during a hearing with regulators. Seth Jeffs, brother of imprisoned sect leader Warren Jeffs, is a key figure in the group. Talk about a slippery slope.

The Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is a known criminal enterprise living in the Black Hills. It's a community where counterfeit plural marriages to children by old white men are not only accepted they're encouraged.
