While Jon Tester reminds voters about the importance of science in policy-making the Vermillion Plain Talk says Mike Rounds is pulling our legs.
During the flooding in 2011 Robert Schneiders appeared on Bill Janklow's idea of public radio where he forecast the death of the Missouri River as a living ecosystem.

South Dakota Republican Sen. Mike Rounds sent us a press release Oct. 31, with a couple photos showing him and other senators watching Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Scott Pruitt sign a directive that, according to Rounds, will “improve the independence, transparency and diversity on EPA federal advisory committees.” How will that be accomplished? By abandoning science, apparently. "Frankly, this directive is nuts," Al Teich of George Washington University wrote in an email to BuzzFeed News. Rounds, who was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2016 and has only participated in that year’s election cycle, has received $201,900 from oil and gas industries. [excerpt from David Lias]Mike Rounds likes swamps. He built a self-insured house in a swamp that flooded in 2011.
