South Dakota will try again to liquidate stigmatized boot camp

Brady Folkens died in state custody after a botched diagnosis at the now-shuttered STAR Academy on December 21, 2013.

I examined about 3 inches of Brady’s medical records…and what else did I see? Brady was on a LOADING dose of Minocycline…about 4 TIMES the maintenance dose ….his dosage was never reduced. His chart was filled with NKA (No Known Allergies)…it was ridiculous how many pages were plastered with this stamp…..which got me to thinking it was a cover up. So I called Brady’s mother…yep he DID have an allergy and it was easily seen on his hometown clinic chart. Doxycycline…and if you are allergic to it you should not take Minocycline. One of the side effects was myocarditis….just what Brady died from.

After his wrongful death the State of South Dakota will try to sell it a second time Thursday, Jan. 4, at 11 a.m. at the Custer County Courthouse Commissioners Room.

Prior to the October auction, some state legislators, including district 30 Reps. Tim Goodwin and Julie Frye-Mueller, questioned the suddeness of the auction, which they said lacked transparency. They since have called on Gov. Dennis Daugaard to scrap auctioning the property altogether and to consider reopening the academy. They have been joined on that call by Sen. Neal Tapio of Watertown, who has said the state’s juvenile justice reform is not working and a facility to house problem juveniles is needed.

Neal Tapio is another earth hater politico with higher ambitions than sitting in the extremist state legislature.

Retired Yankton surgeon Lars Aanning says, "We believe that besides Jeff Haier, the other participants in this cover-up include Denny Kaemingk, head of Corrections, and John Porter, CEO of Avera Health."

Lt. Governor Matt Michels, a former Avera lawyer, has also been implicated in the coverup.
