At a news conference in Sioux Falls, members of about a dozen advocacy and faith groups joined to oppose a new iteration of a registry aimed at vetting immigrants from countries believed to pose a terror threat. "Anyone who says there needs to be extra vetting from countries which are terrorist hotbeds and then lists countries where the majority religion is Islam is a smoke screen for a Muslim registry or a Muslim ban," said Taneeza Islam, executive director of South Dakota Voices for Peace.Read it here.
