South Dakota lawmakers hope that approving a tax break for developers could spur the construction of workforce housing across the state. Under the proposal, developers would receive a refund or tax credit for sales and use taxes or contractor's excise taxes paid on workforce housing projects valued at $150,000 or less for an owner-occupied housing unit or $100,000 for a rental housing unit.Read more here.
