A luncheon meeting in Vermillion hosted by the University of South Dakota Young Republicans went off the rails and off-script for Rep. Kristi Noem (earth hater-SD) who wanted to talk about her campaign to be a career politician but was overwhelmed by angry constituents abhorred by school gun violence.
Drinking Liberally Sioux Falls and State Representative Susan Wismer have both called Noem a liar.
Noem is simply pandering to her white base. Just like the Second Amendment is co-opted by Republicans to prop up white privilege by bolstering the law enforcement industry's history of punishing slaves, "pro-life" is simply code for white people breeding.
Blaming kids for school shootings is a little like blaming Planned Parenthood for the National Rifle Association. Just for instance, in 2016 PPACT spent about $1.1 million in lobbying and campaign contributions while the NRA spent nearly $55,000,000. Yet, Noem has instead chosen to target Planned Parenthood.
Noem would do anything she can to keep kids falling through the cracks so she can finance her agenda by tapping the federal teat for more prisons.
She should just quit her doomed campaign, bank her cash and move on to her next gig as a Washington lobbyist or Fox News talking head so she can pay off all of the taxes the government socked her with when her father died.
A woman in the audience asked Noem, as a gubernatorial candidate, what her plans are for keeping the state’s children safe in the wake of the Feb. 14 school shooting and other gun violence that victimizes children. “I would be much more aggressive than we are today in identifying and educating,” Noem said, “starting at the middle school level and high school level, kids that are in crisis...”Read it all here.
