Heȟáka Sápa or Nicholas Black Elk, was a holy man who rejected catholicism and returned to Lakota ways after he realized the Roman Church was committing crimes against his people.

Black Elk is said to be a person who lived the gospel's message and he's on his way to being considered a saint in the Catholic church. The process is now pending one final step: approval from the pope but it's not a quick process to promote someone to sainthood.
