Ecocide in South Dakota driving districts to share costs

Ag and livestock production are destroying East River watersheds.

The James River Water Development District has awarded $23,853 to the US Geological Survey for continued operation and maintenance of three stream flow gauging stations.
The project is designed to demonstrate the benefits of different cropping techniques to improve soil health by reducing runoff, increasing filtration and improving organic matter to bring the soils back into production.

In a related story, the USGS is warning High Plains states the Ogallala Aquifer, also called the Great Plains Aquifer, is being depleted at a far faster rate than its recharge flows.
