Despite double-dipping ag income plummeting

Despite unethical financial practices ag income and their associated tax receipts in South Dakota's chemical toilet are in free fall.
The Environmental Working Group, which maintains a database of farm subsidies, says the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s newest programs have paid farmers more than $13 billion for lost income due to low crop prices. Market access and crop insurance are higher priorities for the state’s farmers than subsidies, according to South Dakota Corn Growers Executive Director Lisa Richardson. The potential loss of the North American Free Trade Agreement and the recent loss of the Trans Pacific Partnership are especially troubling for farm groups, she said.
