Ceramic architecture using recycled glass and plastics has been a topic for us Basin beer swillers looking for ways to make our community sustainable. We have been talking about drilling for hot water and building greenhouses, too.
We used this method of building on our foundation. Originally there was no foundation.and the house was on wooden piers. I laid earth filled poly bags between the post. There are several layers of bags with barbed wire. This method is great for uneven ground.
Concentric layers would act as an insulating envelope while the Romex lays between rows of bags. Outlet boxes are mortared into place.
Our local potter said the most critical portion of glass making for skylights is the incremental annealing and cooling process using kilns that heat to 1700 degrees.
funny thing is this kind of building is againts the law in most places. We need to change that. Some counties in Ca. will not let you build a residence under 900 sq. feet either.
