Recall that in 2015 President Tony Reider and officials of the Flandreau Santee Sioux Nation advanced an adults-only cannabis initiative after an Iowa casino on the border cut into the tribe's gaming business but destroyed their crop after threats from South Dakota's former/current attorney general. The State of South Dakota receives revenue from the FSST through a compact with the 423 member Isanti Dakota Oyate but disputes over cannabis, liquor and gaming have been ongoing for decades.

South Dakota's junior senator (he's the one wearing a necktie in image below) is a short guy and will always be a short guy.
