Nathan Barton is lying to his readers

Once in a while it's fun to check in on The Price of Liberty. That weblog is maintained by Nathan Barton, a Rapid City Libertarian who ran for governor in 1994 and again in 2002. Mr. Barton has clearly embraced the idea that the ground he lives on was seized for him from aboriginal cultures by liberal democrat, President Thomas Jefferson through an executive order that even he believed was unconstitutional.

The Landback Movement demands the return of all land – or at least all in the Dakotas, Montana, Wyoming, and Nebraska. [Patriotic Evil?]

That's simply untrue. The LandBack Movement seeks to repatriate lands held in the public domain and managed by the US Bureau of Land Management, the National Forest System and some in the National Park Service but that's unlikely to happen during the Trump Organization's occupation of the White House especially since Donald Trump Fat Nixon loathes Indigenous Americans.

As a step toward land repatriation the South Dakota Democratic Party should advocate for paying the tribes and settling the Black Hills Claim, dissolving the Black Hills National Forest, moving management of the land from the US Department of Agriculture into the Department of Interior in cooperation with Bureau of Indian Affairs Division of Forestry and Wildfire Management. Mato Paha (Bear Butte), the associated national grasslands and the Sioux Ranger District of the Custer/Gallatin National Forest should be included in the move.
