Longtime Deadwood musician, player, and scoundrel Ricky Jacobsen has passed. He was a gifted keyboard artist and spent a number of years dealing and playing poker.
Besides playing the Deadwood Songbook, Ricky played in the Cowboy Christmas Show in Deadwood with other performers.
Here he is a year ago playing keyboards with the Brandon Sprague Band at the Deadwood Tobacco Company:
In recent years he had been fighting chronic depression.
A memorial is not yet scheduled.

There will never be another Ricky J. By far the best keyboard and sax player in the Black Hills. He will be sorely missed by many. Rest in peace, my friend.
