Bob Karolevitz passes; Daugaard loads pea-shooter

The Sioux Falls Argus Leader is only good for the obituaries. This one made me sad for Jan and Jill on Father's Day:

Bob Karolevitz, 89 of Yankton and formerly of Mission Hill died on Friday, June 17, at Avera Sister James Care Center, Yankton. A Memorial Mass will be at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, June 22, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Yankton. Burial of Bob's cremated remains will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery with military rites by the Ernest-Bowyer VFW Post #791, Yankton and the SDARNG, Sioux Falls. Visitations will begin at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, June 21, at the Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home and Crematory with a 7:30 PM Scripture service and video tribute. Visitations will resume one hour prior to the service at the church.

Wild Horses of Red Rock

After consulting with the Horse Shelter and an equine veterinarian Donnamarie and Larry have decided that the best way to protect ten free-roaming horses is to keep them in their care. Forage is scarce and the only water available is from wells on their property so the four mares that will foal very soon will be safe, well cared for and as wild as possible. About fifteen acres is fenced with horse-safe wire but the gate is always open so the herd can come and go as they please. The couple has been buying hay and so far that is working but the three stallions need to be gelded and that is expensive so we're asking you to pony up to help defray the cost.
