Schools in Custer County are preparing for an outbreak of measles, which hit South Dakota last month. While there has been no case or outbreak of measles in the Custer School District, the administration still wants to let patrons know how to prepare themselves, just in case. The South Dakota Department of Health (DOH) is investigating an outbreak of measles in Mitchell. A case of measles has also been reported in Sioux Falls, bringing the total number of cases reported to 14.
