4th least tax-fair South Dakota expected to raise taxes on poorest

Under Republican governors South Dakota's infrastructure is crumbling and twenty one percent of South Dakota's bridges are structurally deficient.

But to pay to mitigate those failures the red moocher state legislature is expected to raise taxes on those residents least able to pay.
Currently, South Dakota charges a 4 percent sales tax which goes toward the state's general fund. And buyers across the state may also see additional 1 to 2 percent sales tax increases that go to municipalities, depending on where they shop.

And, according to the study, Wyoming was the No. 1 state where the top 1 percent on income-earners were undertaxed. “Although conservatives appear to support higher taxes on the poor and lower taxes on the rich, the general trend is the same: all Americans believe a fair state and local tax system imposes higher tax rates on wealthy households than on lower- and middle-income households,” it stated.
