Elgersma: EPA necessary

A Dakota Free Press regular is hugely pissed off at South Dakota's GOP congressional delegation for its hypocrisy on the US Environmental Protection Agency's commitment to clean water and air in my home state.
Sen. Mike Rounds wants to start a committee in Congress to stop the EPA on rules that affect the economy for more than $50 million. Does he not know that there are already congressmen that get huge campaign contributions to do just that? When Sen. John Thune ran against Sen. Tim Johnson, Thune was accused of voting to raise the arsenic levels in water 10 times what it had been. We need leaders who neither take contributions to buy their votes nor listen to those who do. [LTE, Roger Elgersma]
Amen, Brother Roger.
