Hello Everyone,I am pleased to announce that All About Northwest will be holding a series of "Train Trek" presentations across South Dakota next week discussing the FRA Amtrak Daily Long-Distance Service Study findings and what we can do to bring passenger rail back to South Dakota. The Study found the routes across South Dakota are feasible, defensible and could, in fact, outperform other routes across the county.Kicking off Monday evening in Sioux Falls, we'll travel to Canton (Lincoln County), Fort Pierre, and Wall before wrapping up Thursday evening in Rapid City.We hope you can attend to learn more about bringing long-denied passenger rail services (and the economic benefits they bring) to South Dakota.Presentation ScheduleSioux FallsMonday June 23rd, 6:00pmSiouxland Libraries Downtown Library200 N Dakota AveSioux Falls, SD 57104Hosted by All Aboard NorthwestCanton (Lincoln County)Tuesday June 24th, 6:30pmLincoln County, Board of County Commissioners MeetingLincoln County Courthouse, 6:30pm104 N Main St

My proposal for passenger rail from Minneapolis to Denver is a route from the Twin Cities to Mankato on the right of way owned by the Rapid City, Pierre and Eastern Railroad to Brookings, South Dakota and Pierre then to Rapid City and to Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway tracks at Alliance via Chadron, Nebraska then to Cheyenne, Wyoming and Denver. Service to Sioux Falls and Omaha could diverge at Florence, Minnesota but a route in the I-90 median between Sioux Falls and Rapid City should also be explored.
