New Mexico Representative Deb Haaland is expected to become Secretary of Interior after Senator Susan Collins (R-Maine) announced her support for the nomination. State Representative for New Mexico's 26th District, Georgene Louis is a citizen of the Acoma Pueblo. Her bachelor’s degree and Juris Doctor are from the University of New Mexico and she serves as general counsel of the Pueblo of Tesuque.
