Cops' lives suck: South Dakota trooper a victim of his own psychopathy

Little wonder cops abuse their families, alcohol, drugs, food, power, detainees and even occasionally murder their wives.

A notorious South Dakota State Trooper found himself on the losing side of an altercation with freedom fighters.
Authorities say four suspects are in custody after the assault of 34–year–old South Dakota Highway Patrol Trooper, Zac Bader. State public safety officials say Trooper Bader suffered serious, but non–life threatening injuries and is currently hospitalized in intensive care and listed under stable condition. Officials say Trooper Bader initiated the traffic stop at mile marker 70 on Interstate 90 when he was assaulted [KSFY teevee]
Recall that back in 2012 the morbidly obese, power hungry Bader accosted a Montana family instead of policing Sturgis Rally traffic.

Trooper Bader, shield 73, asked Mr. freegan to join him in the squad car then told him that probable cause was a six-inch crack in the Subaru's windshield. While the otherwise nicely-behaved dog in the back seat of the squad car watched, Bader asked that since Montana has a medical cannabis (cop said "marijuana") law, did Mr. freegan have a card?

After Mr. freegan refused to answer citing his Fifth Amendment rights, Herr Bader announced that he and the weaponized dog would do a walk-around.

The subsequent questioning of Mrs. freegan elicited similar recitations including her view that South Dakota's state police was harassing her family.

Something apparently got through to Trooper Bader: he issued no ticket for the cracked windshield; but, he cited Mr. freegan for possessing paraphernalia and Mrs. freegan for knowing of the paraphernalia then sent the family on their less-than-merry way.
If a police officer in your community has a history of misconduct, can you find out about it? It depends where you live. In some of these states, the law explicitly exempts these records from public view. In others, records are secret in practice because police departments routinely withhold them under vague legal standards or in spite of court precedents. Police disciplinary records are confidential personnel records under South Dakota Codified Law § 1-27-1.5(7).

The Rapid City Journal agrees with me: cops' lives suck.
Gunfire deaths of police officers in 2015 are actually down over the same period in 2014, but over the last year, six officers appear to have been targeted specifically because they worked in law enforcement, according to the Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, which tracks officer deaths. TV coverage has been extensive on a number of racially charged incidents, including the killing of black teenager Michael Brown by a white officer in Ferguson, Mo.; the death of Freddie Gray while in police custody in Baltimore, Md.; and the shooting of Walter Scott by a white police officer in South Charleston, S.C. Those incidents, some of which led to criminal charges against officers, have fueled an atmosphere of backlash, with some fringe groups calling for retaliation against police. [With officers killed, and suspect deaths, it's a tough time to be a cop]
But, South Dakotans already know this, right?

Today's 100 Eyes broadcast was dominated by news that South Dakota's legislature is inching closer to the kurtz cannabis template after the Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribes tests its sovereignty from the state where it is trapped. More from KSFY teevee here.

South Dakota vilifies teachers especially those who won't carry firearms into classrooms but hides the records of psychotic behavior presented by bad actors like Trooper Bader from public view: self-reliance or moral hazard?

  1. Exactly. Cops tend to have little control over their own miserable lives so the industry draws from the dregs of society existing at the margins and eventually they are weaned from the gene pool.

    I blame JackBoot for this

  3. Bader and his cell block all suffer from Stockholm Syndrome, Duff, likely some hangover from misspent youths having sex with barnyard animals or their sisters.

  5. Cops are parasites living on the public dole. Make your point then go away, troll.

  6. I've attempted to make my point on more than one occasion, yet my comments magically disappear. I've seen others post info similar to myself, and their posts also are nowhere to be found. Where oh where could they have gone?

My point? I made it quite clear. You're a despicable human being. Why? As I said, you've already deleted it a few times, but I'll make it again:

You're making light of a human being who was cowardly and savagely beaten and left for dead on the side the road. You are taking the side of four thugs who nearly took his life. And this is karma? For what? For issuing a traffic citation for someone who was breaking the law. . . THREE YEARS AGO? How dare he!

Grow up. I'll repeat myself again, though I have no doubt you'll delete this post as you have the others. Show a little compassion and decency over the very serious attempted murder of a human being.

    1. One person's attempted murder is another's self defense. South Dakota is a police state where every visitor is a target: a mark for lawgivers' cash.

Now go away or I'll delete you stupid ass.

  7. One of the 'freedom fighters' had to have his hand surgically repaired after sucker punching the officer and then repeatedly attempting to bash his head in while he was unconscious. You obviously can't be taken seriously. I apologize to myself for wasting my time with you.

    2. Bader is collateral damage in Marty Jackley's war on civil liberties. Begone, troll.

  8. Bader profiled a vehicle from Washington State and zeroed in on its passengers hoping to score points: more harassment for visitors to South Dakota.

  10. Correct a mundo . . . the reason for the stop is not explained in the court documents. Not needed in South Dakota - likely not Nebraska either. I've personally witnessed trooper Bader operating on I-90. Profile, intimidate/bully, deny rights - that's his AG-approved modus-operandi.

Cops close ranks on any retaliation incident. Right/wrong makes no difference. Again, this is on Jackley. What the hell does a bit of weed passing through South Dakota have to do with "protecting South Dakotans". Bad joke - it's really all about sucking for Federal dollars to subsidize this State's prison industry.

Mistreatment of any being is reprehensible, of course, and one has compassion for Bader's family. But keep in mind the hell our State criminal-justice system has ravaged on countless families (of those passing-by) through this man. Indeed - what goes round does come round. My only surprise is that it took this long for this type of response to happen. Keep poking a bear . . . .

  11. My family was harassed by MisterBater and his reasoning was 1st Montana plates. He was very abusive with his words and he was LOUD and threatning. He gave my wife a ticket, witch was dropped of course, for "knowing I had a pipe". He also reached into my pocket with no warning as I sat in his car. He was/is not a nice person. I bet he will clean up his act now,but I could be wrong.

  12. It's unlikely Bader will return to the killing fields of eastbound I-90 and Rapid City Republicans have raised some $40,000 for his retirement where he will no doubt be confined to a desk instead of chasing cars with West Coast or Colorado plates.
