Hy-Vee just spent $45,000 for luxury seats in the Sioux Falls Events Center.
From my inbox:
Dear South Dakota MoveOn member,
A majority of Hy-Vee's shoppers are women, and its support of Rush Limbaugh's radio show, which has repeatedly insulted women, is by default communicating it agrees with his outrageous lies and insults.
We want to support Hy-Vee's employee-run stores, but not while the company is supporting Rush Limbaugh. That's why I created a petition on SignOn.org to Hy-Vee CEO Randy Edeker, which says:
Stop supporting Rush and we will support your employees.
Click here to add your name to this petition, and then pass it along to your friends.
Thanks!
The company is an underwriter of Bill Janklow's idea of public radio.
In SD, the choices for groceries frequently come down to Hy-Vee and WalMart. At the risk of sounding like Sibby, the corporate folk seem to have created a moral dilemma here. Do I shop at place that supports Rush or a place that hates every worker right?
ReplyDeleteThis is not yet a call to boycott, LK: sorry you are forced to live in the chemical toilet. Rapid City and Spearfish offer alternatives, as does Sioux Falls. Brookings and Mitchell are clearly fucked as are most towns in the failed red state.
