Tom Lawrence reports in the Mitchell Daily Republic:
South Dakota Highway Patrol Capt. Kevin Joffer said Kassidy Noem was northbound on Interstate 90 when she lost control of her vehicle on an icy patch on the road surface near Mile Marker 108. The 2001 Buick LeSabre she was driving went into the east ditch, struck a delineator pole and rolled once, landing on its wheels, he said. Noem was wearing her seat belt and did not need to be treated or transferred, Joffer said.Last year, the president of the college Kassidy Noem is attending spent time in jail for a firearm offense.
@ToddHeitkamp works for NWS: a target of cuts by daughter's @cheitkamp boss who is @RepKristiNoemAs Noem struggles for relevance, her staff writes that the agencies she is trying to destroy are there to help:
My family has a NOAA weather radio that is programmed to alert us of watches and warnings not only in Hamlin County, but for the surrounding counties as well so that we have more advanced warning. Because of this, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) are continuing to partner together to increase awareness about the hazards of severe weather and common-sense preparedness tips. I would also encourage you to find out who your local emergency manager is and to attend an area severe weather training session, sponsored by the National Weather Service (NWS).
