Must read: Rapture fraud a criminal act

From a letter to the editor of the Missoulian:

Harold Camping, president of Family Radio, swindled the intellectually challenged into forking over their life savings by assuring them that Saturday, May 21, was the end of the world. Sunday they would be impoverished but he'd pocket their donations to the tune of $72,438,000 tax-free smackers. It wouldn't be possible for Camping to pull off this scam if 55 percent of Americans hadn't already swallowed "The Rapture" fable. Christianity is a gateway to lunacy, but it's perfectly legal. Religiously cloaked vultures freely sucker people to raid their nest eggs, sell their homes, and rob their kids' college savings. Likely left with post-traumatic stress disorder, their kids will at least grow up less susceptible to superstitious malarkey. Meanwhile, ignoring the impending world doom forecast to begin last Saturday, federal thugs raided a Helena medical cannabis business on a recent Friday. The moral of our story, boys and girls, is that religion harms children with impunity, is protected by the government and is tax exempt. Forget medicine, ganja needs religion.
