ReplyDeleteWhile Robert Mueller (the former FBI Director) was not a professional golfer, he was a member of the Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Virginia, for nearly 20 years.
ReplyDeleteThe most well-known connection between Mueller and golf stems from a dispute with President Donald Trump:
Club Membership: Mueller and his family joined the Trump National Golf Club in 1994 but resigned in 2011, stating they lived in the District and were "unable to make full use of the Club".
Refund Dispute: Upon resigning, Mueller requested a partial refund of his initial membership fee. According to the Mueller Report, the refund was never issued.
Conflict of Interest Claim: President Trump later cited this "dispute over fees" at the golf club as one of several reasons why he believed Mueller had a conflict of interest in leading the Russia investigation.
