Source: Mike Rounds talking to family about resigning US Senate

Breaking: a source close to the Rounds family just left me an email confirming suspicions that Mike Rounds is talking about leaving the Senate as the US Department of Justice closes in on his role in the Bendagate affair.

Earlier today this reporter received word that even after Jean Rounds asked him not to run for US Senate Tike Mike knew he had to to prevent South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley from probing his pile and to keep Brendan Johnson from opening his investigation to the public.

Expect an announcement from the office of the US Attorney for the District of South Dakota that an indictment of Rounds is being prepared and Randy Seiler to announce Joop Bollen has been offered immunity from federal prosecution.

Bollen is a Future Fund recipient and SDGOP campaign contributor. Bob Mercer's request to see Richard Benda's autopsy report and investigation proving he was shot in the abdomen was denied by a Republican-owned court in South Dakota. A report from a SDGOP-heavy legislative committee blamed the dead Benda, a former Governors Office of Economic Development employee, for the EB-5 scandal. Future Fund cash is a slush fund and feature of the Bendagate scandal that helps make the Big Sioux River a foreign dairy-driven chemical toilet while the State of South Dakota routinely operates in an ethics vacuum often aborting efforts to reduce opacity.

My home state truly is a perpetual welfare state living the low life.

I will crawl under my blankets with my favorite teddy bear tonite Larry....and dream dreams of fields of hemp growing copiously throughout the land....under the just administration of a state government filled with Your friends Larry. May you live several hundred more years in good health Mr. Kurtz.

    1. Rounds has immunity from state probes but only limited immunity from federal investigations even as a sitting US Senator. Gov. Daugaard's Chief of Brothers in Law told Today's KCCR that the feds are looking beyond Joop Bollen's escapades.

      Always nice to have company.

  2. Tony Venhuizen: "NEARLY all of the federal agency's findings relate to a private company..." Today's KCCR.

Rounds' lawyer worked at CIA, worked as corporate compliance director at Raven Industries, worked at ethanol giant POET with Rob Skjonsberg, and as deputy US Attorney under Marty Jackley.

Neil Fulton left Rounds' employ after Rich Benda's death. "Shortly after previous chief of staff Rob Skjonsberg announced his resignation, Fulton was meeting with Rounds on an unrelated matter:" Pierre Capital Journal.

  3. If prison is in his future, maybe Mr Rounds will loose some of that weight and the suntan that he has gained since becoming our US Senator.

    1. Rounds would cop a plea and roll over on his hires like Arends, Skjonsberg and Glodt before he goes to jail.

    2. Ask and sometimes...yee shall receive (unless you're in red state South Dakota) that has an amazing ability to gloss over the deeper, darker scandals aided and abetted by a hypocritical zero tolerance police state that cow tows to Darth Cheney who avoided any sort of expected scrutiny for several suspicious deaths that could have only involved the amorphous NSA TSP.

I could go on and on....but....after a while, you realize fascism is internalized and exists in a fog of chivalrous denial.

Oh well...(sigh)...if God had intended me to live in SD, he would have given me a fork tongue and a Janklow bozo boner button.

  7. That a lie is viewed 1,600 times does not make it true. This story remains a rumor, unsourced, uncorroborated, and unexpanded with any new information.

  8. It is no lie that Mike Rounds talked about and could still be talking to his family about resigning the US Senate.
