Update, 10 June 1035 MDT:
A majority of Republican senators have co-sponsored a bill introduced by Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) that has been promoted as a measure to delay the elimination of subsidies to purchase health insurance in the federal insurance marketplaces, and thereby avoid disrupting coverage for millions of Americans if the Supreme Court strikes such subsidies down. In fact, however, the Johnson proposal goes far beyond that, effectively unraveling large swaths of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). The result would be to add millions to the ranks of the uninsured and cause health insurance premiums to rise very substantially. [Center on Budget and Policy Priorities].................
South Dakota's junior senator has escaped the glare of this blog but after he came out supporting the GOP's ridiculous ObamaCare replacement and the state's senior senator shoved his foot down his own throat something has to be said.
Preserving Freedom and Choice in Health Care Act:Without a requirement to purchase insurance coverage, health economists roundly expect premiums would spike as healthy, young people opt not to purchase a plan. This could, even in the transitional period, make the Obamacare markets a much more expensive place to shop. [The GOP has 5 plans to fix Obamacare if the Supreme Court blows it up. They're all a mess.]Read Mike Rounds' staffer's blurb linked here.
