Two images from Willamette National Forest near Santiam Pass show a recent burn where old growth forests mix with heavily logged new stands.
These are cinder cones in the Hillman Peak group: Crater Lake is to the left in this image. Yes, that is snow amid the remnants of glaciers. Sisters, Oregon is a picturesque little town built in a tinder box.
