Thune: producers willing to forfeit direct payments; Noem: duh

Staff for Senator don Juan Thune (earth hater-SD) wrote another blurb for the state's junior senator, this time in the Mitchell Daily Republic.

Gaffes were numerous; but, the most glaring one was the substitution of the word "weather" when climate was called for. The writer also unwittingly touted Frankenfood as a good thing:
In spite of last year’s widespread drought, thanks to their hard work, willingness to pay for available risk protection tools like crop insurance, and their use of moisture saving tillage practices and drought tolerant crop genetics, South Dakota farmers and ranchers met the weather-related challenges they faced. Direct payments bring more than $140 million to South Dakota each year, yet South Dakota producers are willing to give up direct payments and other types of assistance in the next Farm Bill. I do not know a single farmer or rancher who would rather receive a government check than profit from what they grow on the farm or ranch.
How this weasel can smirk and lie as an ongoing member of Congress is tribute to his skills as a gigolo.

The state's lone US House member responded to a tweet from this interested party in the Mitchell paper, too. One of her minions is the daughter of a National Weather Service employee.
@ToddHeitkamp works for NWS: a target of cuts by daughter's @cheitkamp boss who is @RepKristiNoem
As Krusti Noem (earth hater-SD) struggles for relevance, her staff writes that the agencies she is trying to destroy are there to help:
My family has a NOAA weather radio that is programmed to alert us of watches and warnings not only in Hamlin County, but for the surrounding counties as well so that we have more advanced warning. Because of this, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) are continuing to partner together to increase awareness about the hazards of severe weather and common-sense preparedness tips. I would also encourage you to find out who your local emergency manager is and to attend an area severe weather training session, sponsored by the National Weather Service (NWS).
How could I even make up this shit?
