Along with Cruz, Rubio and McConnell, other Republican senators who joined Paul on the floor included Mike Lee of Utah, Jerry Moran of Kansas, John Barrasso of Wyoming, Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania, Jeff Flake of Arizona, Tim Scott of South Carolina, John Thune of South Dakota and Ron Johnson of Wisconsin. These senators represent the extreme right wing of the dying party. Thune is beneficiary of those who would end environmental protection.
Bob Beck is Wyoming Public Media's News Director. He recently began an interview with Senator John Bare Asso (earth hater-WY) asking the question: "Senator, why do you hate the environment?"
In this case, I think Thune may have been doing the right thing for the wrong reason. Getting the Attorney General to admit that the President does not have the power to use a drone to kill U.S. citizens on U.S. soil when the citizens are not engaged in armed rebellion or are not posing an imminent threat was worth the spectacle.
ReplyDeleteI did throw up when Ted Cruz started quoting Ayn Rand and Marco Rubio starting quoting Jay-Z, however.
Im agree with you LK
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of environment: New data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration show atmospheric carbon dioxide levels are continuing to rise but global temperatures are not following suit. The new data undercut assertions that atmospheric carbon dioxide is causing a global warming crisis.
