I was was struck by the long migrations of all those land critters—caribou, elephant, etc.—and how unusual it seems to me, grid-road-fenced-prairie dweller, that there are still those vast tracts of land where animals can cover hundreds of miles without having to skirt men and machines and barbed wire.
