Bengs will run as an unaffiliated candidate for US Senate

Despite being a shoo-in for the nomination at the state convention to run for attorney general it looks like Brian Bengs will run for US Senate outside the Democratic Party. South Dakota's secretary of state has yet to update how many signatures will be required for either Bengs or Julian Beaudion to get on the 2026 ballot. Splitting the progressive vote seems antithetical if not asinine but it's still early.

    Refuse to sign the petition that would put Bengs on the ballot for US Senate.
